Oddly, SlideShare remains a platform that is still little used in BtoB marketing. I am also quite surprised during various interventions by the number of communication, marketing or sales professionals who do not know this site. If this is your case, SlideShare is like YouTube, except that you don't share videos but slides, as the name suggests. SlideShare accepts files of up to 100 MB and several formats: PowerPoint, OpenOffice, Apple Keynote, MS Office, pdf, iWork. In 2012, SlideShare was acquired by LinkedIn and is now fully integrated into the social network. 3 billion slides are viewed each month, or 1,140 per second.
SlideShare has 4 major interests. 1) SlideShare: SEO in SlideShare. SlideShare is one of the 100 most Email Data visited sites in the world with more than 60 million unique monthly visitors (a priori more than on your site). Even in France, during a CCM Benchmark conference dedicated to BtoB, a Microsoft marketing manager noted the low use of SlideShare in BtoB marketing in comparison with the power and contributions of the service. Being present in SlideShare is therefore an opportunity to have your documents which can be found in the platform. To do this, you must create an account (it's free), describe your account (keywords) and download your presentations (without an accent in the file title), ideally with the emphasis on the image rather than on the text.
Also remember to keep it short: the average presentation is 19 slides with an average of 24 words per page. Example, I created a PowerPoint of a few pages for the release of my first book. This material was read by over 5,000 people on SlideShare in 6 months and I sold 3,500 copies of the book. At the time, I had few followers on Twitter and few contacts on LinkedIn. SlideShare clearly contributed to the success of the book. 2) Google: On the other hand, Google SEO. Google likes quality content from authoritative sites. The documents on SlideShare are often of high quality and come from an authoritative site (PageRank 7) on Google.
